Tom McKnew

Tom is one of the founders and principals of US Realty Capital and has worked in the capital markets for almost 25 years placing both debt and equity on various product types of commercial real estate around the United States.  Over his capital markets career Tom has structured and sourced billions of dollars for his institutional and private family clients with a wide range of capital sources such as credit companies, pension funds, mortgage REITs, Wall Street CMBS investment banks, debt funds, domestic and international commercial banks, hedge funds, life insurance companies, private funds, and off shore capital sources.  Financing requests for his clients have included equity, mezzanine, construction, short and long term debt, and joint venture transactions.  Past product type financed include multi family, industrial, office, hotel, and retail along with more special use real estate such as senior living facilities, self-storage, parking garages, golf courses, and master planned communities.

Prior to his capital markets work, Tom worked for Arthur Andersen within their real estate services group in Los Angeles as a consultant advising large real estate investors and developers on various projects located in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Tom is a licensed broker in the State of California and has a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.

Tom has been actively involved in NAIOP, ULI, MBA, and was Past President of BAMA (Bay Area Mortgage Association) and is the current President of Pathway for Kids which is a San Francisco based nonprofit.
